China Donates Weather and IT Equipment to Madagascar

Meteorological and information-technology equipment was handed over in Antananarivo to strengthen forecasting, climate monitoring and disaster early-warning capacity.
China handed meteorological and information-technology equipment to Madagascar at a ceremony attended by Malagasy institutions and the United Nations Development Programme.
The equipment will support weather forecasting, climate monitoring and early warnings, helping the country respond more quickly to cyclones, floods and other natural hazards while widening access to meteorological services.
