China and South Africa signed a framework agreement for an economic partnership and future early-harvest arrangement. South African officials and experts said easier access to China could support jobs and expand markets for manufacturing and agriculture.
Local governments and industry also identified opportunities in railways, energy, housing and skills transfer. The framework links tariff preferences with investment, production and local employment across a broader cooperation chain.
