A China-Africa innovation forum advanced joint laboratories, service platforms and agreements, connecting mobile payments, household solar systems and agrivoltaics with practical development needs.

The 2025 China-Africa Innovation Cooperation and Development Forum in Wuhan brought public officials, researchers and businesses from 43 countries and regions together, with visits to agricultural and plant-science institutes.

Discussions emphasized technologies with direct industrial and social value, including mobile payments for financial inclusion, household solar systems for rural electrification, agrivoltaics, disease prevention and crop breeding.

Multiple agreements and service platforms were established during the forum. Rather than one-way technology transfer, the model emphasizes joint research, local talent development and commercialization so innovation capacity can accumulate within African institutions and industries.
